Length of Treatment Usually, braces are worn between 18 to 30 months. However, length of treatment can sometimes be longer depending upon the severity of the problem.
Generally we will schedule return visits every 6 to 12 weeks to check your progress and make adjustments. Once the braces are removed, retainers will be used to hold teeth in their new positions and prevent minor tooth movement.
Retainers are worn at night indefinitely for best results. The retention period is an important part of the overall treatment and should not be neglected. Sterilization In keeping with our commitment to provide our patients with the very best orthodontic treatment available, we have taken great measures to ensure that our sterilization program meets or exceeds the most stringent standard of care. You will notice that protective gloves are always worn while working on patients and that a new pair is used for each and every patient. Protective eyewear and masks are also worn for those procedures that warrant their use. Whenever possible, disposable items are used and when this is not feasible, the latest sterilization techniques are utilized.
All instruments are cleaned, then placed in state-of-the-art heat sterilization units. You will also notice that all exposed surfaces in the treatment area are cleaned and treated with surface disinfectants. Disposable plastic covers are used wherever possible.
All employees have received training with regards to sterilization procedures. We are justifiably proud of our sterilization program and welcome any questions you might have about it.
